Interesting News Articles
Read some interesting news articles on 2 different hacks this week.
The first one from Sopho's website talking about the 93,000 web.com customer data being breached.
The other is about the Ashley Madison hack. I guess even more data is coming out after the first data dump.
29.7GB of data dumpped in the Ashley Madison hack. You didn't know this much data was moving off your network? CMON MAN! I saw an article talking about different people that may be committed suicide over the Ashley Madison hack. This makes the hack and dumping of the hack a scary thing. Sadly an article at ZDnet states there have been 2 suicides and Ashley Madison's CEO looked into their competitor's security. When a company is conscious about other companies security, you know they will be aware of their own security shortcomings. Im not sure how CISO's sleep at night.
About the 93,000 web.com customers.... Sherlock Holmes would say: "Can you trust a hosting company that can't secure your billing records. Food for thought."
It's always interesting to read about the hacks and how complex some of it can be. It reminds you that most networks are insecure at some level and people to go through great lengths to break through.
